Homeopathy is not a placebo but is effective in treating many
serious diseases, including certain kinds of cancer, and costs
just one-fifth of allopathic medication, say experts in the
field of homeopath.
NHS must ban 'dangerous' homoeopathy
Britain's foremost professor of complementary medicine today
launches a withering attack on the provision of homoeopathy on
the NHS. Professor Edzard Ernst of Exeter University says the
use of state funding to provide a treatment which works no
better than a placebo cannot be justified.
Homeopathy 'biologically implausible'
Edzard Ernst, Professor of Complementary Medicine at Exeter
University, said homeopathic remedies had not been proven to
work in clinical trials. People who still maintain the
treatments are effective are "ignoring or misrepresenting the
best evidence available", he added.
Potions, pills and promises
Beliefs in the promises of untested cures are as resilient as
any faith. Trust in "alternative medicines" is sufficiently
widespread that it is now a significant industry. At the same
time, a group of eminent scientists "Friends of Science in
Medicine" have received worldwide attention for their attempt to
remove alternative medicine from university courses.
Extraterrestrials: Archons push for de-funding medical treatments for Australians?
Though it has been used safely and effectively for hundreds of
years by millions of people around the world, homeopathy is
increasingly finding itself in the crosshairs of government-run
healthcare programs like NHMRC that are heavily influenced by
pharmaceutical interests determined to destroy access to natural
forms of treatment. And unless the natural health community
fights back, the practice of homeopathy
Cured by Homeopathy
In the Manly Daily on Friday, 16th March, there was an article
on homeopathy on page 7. In reply to the question at the end of
the article, "Have you had success with homeopathy?" The answer
to that would be a resounding "Yes!"
Remedies do work: local therapists
Homeopaths practising on the Northern Rivers have laughed off
suggestions there is no medical basis to their treatments.
Goonellabah-based homeopathic specialist Julie Green said she
has seen "immediate" improvements in patients who have used
homeopathy. "I think when it's used well it can be absolutely
brilliant," Ms Green said.
No need for an alternative medicine crackdown
Homeopathy is a combination of tradition, art and a science that
has been used for centuries. Does it really matter if its effect
is placebo if it makes people feel better and regain good
health? And why do we have to prove something that's been
working for over a hundred years? Homeopathy is not the same as
medicine, and it shouldn't be measured by the same yardstick.
Medicine is not 100% evidence-based itself but it still does
wonderful things for people.
MHRA poised to scrap controversial approval scheme for homeopathy
The UK medicines regulator is proposing to scrap a controversial
scheme to approve indications for the marketing of homeopathic
remedies, after only one treatment was approved in five and a
half years.
Keysun homeopath defends the field from Medical Research Council
Maryanne Logan says she has helped people overcome tonsillitis,
hayfever, sore throats, constipation and even nightmares. That
is why the National Health and Medical Research Council's draft
finding that homeopathy is unethical to use and been shown not
to be efficacious concerns the practitioner at Warriewood.
Homeopathy isn't unethical, it's just controversial
It's certainly appropriate for the NHMRC to make a statement on
homeopathy. But it's wrong to suggest that homeopathy itself is
unethical.
