Small fraction of businesses key to UK economic growth
The Breakthrough Growth Champions Report, which examined growth
patterns among businesses with turnovers between £500,000 and
£10,000,000, revealed Growth Champions are found across a wide
range of industry sectors. The highest concentrations were found
in sectors such as Social Work 14.7 per cent, Complementary

Boiron Inc. Appoints New President, CEO
Boiron Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Laboratoires Boiron, a

as president and CEO.

Class Actions in Homeopathic Products Segment
The U.S. District Court, Southern District of California, has
given preliminary approval for a settlement agreement in the
class action lawsuit against Boiron Inc. The agreement could
provide $5 million in refunds to consumers who purchased certain
Boiron homeopathic products, including Oscillo, Arnicare,
Chestal and Coldcalm. Boiron also agreed to change its labeling
and add a disclaimer, as well as provide additional information
on homeopathic dilution to its customers.

Homeopathy and autism
My article focused on the homeopathy-based Cease Complete
Elimination of Autistic Spectrum Expression method for the
treatment of autism, which I described as "glaringly inaccurate
nonsense", a position that I maintain. I mentioned Ms Kelly's
name as the advertised presenter of a course on Cease and said
nothing further about her and so did not disparage her
personally. Homeopathy on the other hand has been properly
disparaged by many, including myself, as pseudoscientific
sympathetic magic.

Doctor detained for bomb threat to BJP meet
Police have detained a homeopathy doctor for allegedly making a
call to the 108 ambulance service and threatening that a bomb
would go off during the BJP's fifth state conference in Madurai.
Police said that they picked up Vanangamudi, a homeopathy doctor
from Avaniyapuram, who called the 108 service during the wee
hours of Wednesday and allegedly warned them that a bomb would
explode during the BJP conference on May 10 and 11.

Budget measure could end natural therapy rebates
A federal budget measure could see natural therapies excluded
from private health insurance rebates unless there is clear
evidence they are clinically effective. A review into the
"clinical efficacy, cost effectiveness, safety and quality" of
natural therapies was announced in the budget handed down by
Treasurer Wayne Swan on Tuesday.
