Wren & Rowe Has Designed Label for the Archanus Wine
Brand consultants Wren Rowe have developed Archanus label, the
first brand of European wine produced from grapes grown using
100 percent homeopathic agriculture. Tiny amounts of homeopathic
product are used to treat fungi and insects. The first
experiments were done in the Vinho Verde region, with the first
harvest done in 2009, with a very limited number of bottles.
Of succussion and cold fusion
Although pooh-poohed by allopathic doctors, scientists and most
rational people, clearly the little sugary pills do often have
some healing power. After all, around 50,000 people per year are
treated in the UKs homeopathic hospitals run by the National
Health Service. In 1999, six million Americans had received some
form of homeopathic treatment. And according to Michael Brooks,
author of 13 Things that dont make Sense, the World Health
Organisation reported that millions from Mexico to Pakistan
frequently used homeopathic remedies.
The advantages of knowing Latin
So who was B Mure. Our guess is that it was Benoit Jules Mure
1809-1858 a "pioneer of homeopathy", who in the nineteenth
century took homeopathy to Malta, Sicily and Brazil, before
coming to Egypt and Sudan with his new medical science. If he
went from Egypt to Sudan, then Philae would have been on his
route.
Swiss Complementary Medicine Decision
Switzerland has 17,200 registered complementary practitioners,
the most per head of population in the world. In 2009, 67 per
cent of the electorate voted, under the country's system of
deciding issues by referendum, for five such therapies to be
covered by health insurance. They are homeopathy, herbal and
traditional Chinese treatments, anthroposophic medicine which
among other techniques uses mistletoe to treat cancer and neural
therapy, which is based on injecting local anaesthetics near
nerve centres.
Homeopathy and Placebos -- Where Should the Line Be Drawn?
This relentless assault on homeopathy is nothing new, however,
as evidence to suggest that its effects offer anything more than
reassurance has gradually become less and less convincing to
opponents of the practice. Britain's doctors and the government
have made their views about homeopathy clear over recent months.
HCG Called Illegal by FDA Exec
FDA says the popular weight-loss products containing HCG are
illegal and fraudulent, according to a USA Today article. HCG
products are promoted as homeopathic drops, pellets and sprays
supposed to be used in combination with a diet of 500 calories a
day. They are heavily sold online, but are also available in
drugstores and at General Nutrition Centers GNC.
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
Raw organic apple cider vinegar 1 to 2 teaspoons daily is
extremely effective in reducing the incidence of GERD. At first
glance, the use of this supplement appears counterintuitive
since vinegar is a weak acid 5 percent acidity. Supplementation
with a weak acid in a hyperacidic situation is, by definition,
homeopathic. Adding a small amount of acid back into the system
in the form of vinegar can strengthen the tone of the lower
esophageal sphincter LES.
Growing Consumer Demand for 'Natural Medicines' like Oscillococcinum
Most respondents said they just don't know enough about
homeopathic medicines, which may be a key barrier to usage.
After these same shoppers were given a minimal definition of
homeopathic medicines highlighting the benefits i.e. safe, no
side effects, at least one-third of the users said they were
then interested in trying the medicines.
