Let me be as clear as a vial of expensive water: homeopathy is
not medicine. This was the recent conclusion of a British House
of Commons committee, which found that homeopathy's basic ideas
are unconvincing and its claims ''scientifically implausible''.
For this reason, our own National Medical Health and Research
Council has drafted a statement questioning the homeopathy
industry. In response, the Australian Medical Association
president suggested that insurers, currently providing rebates
for homeopathic treatment, might now think twice.

at the Centre for Inquiry Canada renewed its call today for
Shoppers Drug Mart to cease selling ineffective homeopathic
products, after the homeopathic manufacturer Boiron agreed to a
$12 million dollar settlement of class action lawsuits alleging
false advertising.

Pukhtunkhwa demanded on Wednesday of the Chief Minister Amir
Haidar Khan Hoti to approve their selection on regular posts,

Alternative medicine not an enemy
I wasn't always a believer in alternative medicine. When you're
growing up, you believe what you're told. So I accepted that the
way I was treated when I had an illness was the right way, the
only way, to do things. I saw fast results with powerful
medication, and I trusted the doctors that knew so much more
than I did, that had gone to school for so many years.
Sceptics anger at homeopath GP's lecture
Sceptics are planning to protest outside a homeopathy lecture in
Wokingham next week. Members of the Reading Skeptics group
criticised homeopathic remedies ahead of the planned talk from
Dr Jayne Donegan, a GP and homeopath, on "Nursing Your Child
Supportively Through Acute Illness" at Wokingham Town Hall in
Market Place.
Natural healing
I've been using homeopathy on myself and my family for nearly
twenty years now. Homeopathy never ceases to amaze me with its
amazing ability to facilitate healing in people's bodies. I once
was a sceptic about homeopathy: I simply couldn't believe that
remedies so small could have such a huge effect. But then I
experienced homeopathy for myself to help me relax more and
alleviate anxiety, and became a firm believer.
Killing them softly with drugs
The owner of our elephant provides us the medicine, Belladonna',
during festival times and tells us to give it to the animal to
subdue its musth. We use a high dosage. It will make our
elephant very lean within a short span of time. During the musth
period, elephants show destructive tendencies, and are hostile
to human beings, especially mahouts. But once this medicine is
administered, the musth is suppressed and we can parade the
elephant at temple festivals safely
Homeopathy is a woman's best friend
Homeopathy understands women's health issues with a women's
perspective -- not because it's mind/body medicine, but because
it understands their delicate emotions as gently. Women,
perhaps, have a far better emotional quotient than men, though
most men wouldn't agree with it. Homeopathy identifies this
element too and incorporates its use in selecting the right
medicine for a given illness.
It Just Isn't Scientific Enough
Homeopathy, iridology, reflexology, kinesiology, healing touch
therapy, aromatherapy and energy medicine are offered at more
than a third of the nation's universities. But some academics
are angry about what they see as a dumbing down of universities
by offering courses that lack scientific credibility.
