Q&A: WHY ARE THE DOSING INSTRUCTIONS DIFFERENT ON EXCEDRIN AND EXCEDRIN MIGRAINE?

Question by Nana63:
Why are the dosing directions diverse on Excedrin and Excedrin Migraine?

Though the dosage directions on Excedrin state take two tablets each and each four hrs not to exceed eight tablets in a 24 hour period, the instructions on Excedrin Migraine state take 2 each 24 hours. There is actually more acetaminophen in Excedrin than in Excedrin Migraine. This does not make sense.

excedrin is a total rip off and as you state they are identical but the makers want to give the impression that 1 is especially for migraine which is just plain dishonest, do not use acetaminophen anyway it can fry your liver, and mixing it with aspirin is just asking for blood and stomach troubles, try ibuprofen or ibuprofen with codeine or a derivative it is far more efficient

It really is due to the other ingredients – there is aspirin and caffeine, as nicely. These have side effects other than just the pain reliever. If you aren’t treating a migraine, I would recommend ibuprofen.

In order for the manufacturers of Excedrin to marketplace their product for Migraine, both the product and the labeling had to be approved by the FDA. Throughout that approval approach, it was determined that the item would be relabeled as Excedrin Migraine and that the labeling would be various since the treatment of Migraine attacks is diverse from treating a “regular” headache for which individuals might take Additional Strength Excedrin.
