I think you're suggesting that if each medicine in a mixture doesn't have a
symptom in common with the patient, that that raises a separate issue from
a mixture in which it does. My contention is that the distinction is
entirely artificial: every medicine will most likely have a single symptom
in common with the patient.
The significance of the symptom in common is therefore zilch.
